Water - we need it
Hydration tips
Water
Hydration is crucial. Without it we would last only about 3 days.
Top tips for hydration:
Drink body temperature water, in other words luke warm to warm (approx 37C). Our stomachs can digest fluids quicker once at body temperature. Drinking ice cold water will hydrate you somewhat however not enough as most of the time the body will flush it through and you will go the loo more, but your cells may not be hydrating properly. I drink a pint of what I call ½ +1/2 in the morning to hydrate, half tap water, half boiling from kettle.
We do need approx 2 litres per day of water (this varies from person to person and with circumstances, eg in summer or during exercise or illness, we need more). Also include herbals teas.
Anything else in my opinion is not fully absorbed as fluid. Avoid caffeine, alcohol, sugar and energy drinks. If you do have these simply compensate by having an extra glass of water.
Water is also the best way to help our bodies eliminate toxins, so it is very important to drink plenty. If you are thirsty, you left it too late, in other words drink regularly do not wait for your body to ask for it.
