Working out how valuable your time is!
Calculation to Escape from the Time trap
Write down your base earning target
for the next 12 months £50,000
Divide this by the number of hours
that you work in a year
(220 days x 8 hours = 1,760) 0,000 divided by 1760
The answer is your base hourly rate £28.41 per hour
Don’t stop there…
Remember, not all your time at work is productive
in terms of making money. Let’s assume that only
33% of your time is productive (actually, it’s
probably nearer 25%)
So multiply £28.41 by a factor of 3 £85.23 per hour
The result:
• to earn £50K per year, you must value your time at £85.23 per hour
• to earn £100K per year, you must value your time at £170.45 per hour.
