Can you let go?

One of the biggest challenges for new business owners...

If your business is growing have you decided who can start to take over specific tasks from you or, if you already have a few staff, who is suitable for a supervisory or managerial role?

One of the biggest challenges for new business owners is letting others do what they have always done - like handle client accounts or write quotes - as no one does it like they do it!

A business will only grow if you delegate less important tasks and duties to others. Scary I know...and the best way to do this is to systemise the task by being clear about what it is you want others to do and how they should do it. They will then need to be shown (trained) how to do it with ongoing support (mentoring) where necessary to ensure they get it right.

Of course this will take some time... but look at it as an investment as before you know it they will be doing the task exactly how you've always done it or better! You will then be free to focus on more important activities like winning new clients and creating new products or even having a day off – how scary is that!! J

Are you letting go as much as you should?
