Social Media isn’t FREE!
Social media requires consistency, great content, customer engagement, immediate reaction to complaints and reputation management, and that all comes at a price when you look at how much blood, sweat, tears and overall time goes into the planning of your social media activities.
I ask you two questions:-
1. How long does it take for you to respond to an email? If its more than 2hrs then you do not really have the time to do social media yourself and should consider giving this activity to an employee or outsource it.
2. Do you spend at least 1hr a day on your social media activities? By this I mean, do you dedicate a whole hour looking at your network, interacting and sharing content, following people, writing blogs, producing great content? 1hr a day should be the minimum amount of time spent on your social media activities.
Unless you consider your time (or the time of your employees) worthless, then there’s a significant cost involved with social media. If it takes one employee approximately ten hours a week to manage social media accounts, how much will that cost you?
Any small business owner needs to understand the numbers behind every marketing activities, and social media is no exception, and that means factoring in everyone’s time and effort.
Do any of these scenarios look familiar to you? Have you struggled with or seen other social media challenges?
