It seems that Charisma has hit the main stage this week, everyone seems to be talking about it, are you?

Everybody's talking about it, are you?

.

If you are anything like us in the Charisma team you will have been watching Superstar on TV. Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber is searching for fresh new talent to take on the arena tour of Jesus Christ Superstar. From the start Andrew didn’t know what the new Jesus would be like and has since several times stated that most of the wanna be hopefuls may re write Jesus. No one knew what Jesus looked like and i’m pretty sure no one knows if he could sing. There is one thing that all the judges have agreed on and have mentioned time and time again, Charisma. It comes as no surprise that they cannot clearly define what Charisma is. Jason Donovan sees it as a certain charm, Dawn French sees it as an appeal to others, Mel sees it as a connection, when the singer is not only connecting with the song but also with the audience. Andrew explains it in greater detail. Jesus was a leader of men and epitomised the state of charisma. To have such followship is truly what every great leader aspires for. We may not know what he looked like, some people may not have Jesus as part of their belief’s but there is one thing for certain we can all believe in the values he brought to a leadership role. To have such passion and a driving force that not only drew people into his message then but for 2000 years since.

Andrew isn’t the only person talking about Charisma, Sir Richard Branson was recently asked in his blog spot What is Charisma? And what a brilliant reply. “To me, charisma is being yourself. Somebody who is comfortable in who they are and confident in what they are doing is naturally going to be more charismatic”

When we work from our own personal point of power to be a truly authentic self then we have reached that state of Charisma that our two Charisma Icons describe. If we try to fake it, it is instantly obvious. When a leader in an organisation is working authentically and passionately they light up that organisation and create an energy in the workplace that drives engagement.
