How to keep trim on holiday!
4 practical tips on how to keep fit on holiday
1) Plan Plan Plan!
This is key. If you plan your exercise, you're much more likely to stick to it. Exercising in the morning means you can get your training done and enjoy the rest of the day. Going away with children? Plan some activities you can all do together. Look at when certain activities are likely to be less busy.
2) Pack some helpful things
Here’s a few bits you could consider taking;
-Resistance bands. (as shown in the picture..shown usage not advised!) Space saving and can buy different strengths which can very your workout
-Stability ball. Deflated of course!
-Wrist/ ankle weights. Won't give you a full resistance workout but you could run/walk around with them on
-Trainers & plenty of comfortable gym clothing. Get up and put them on, you'll be more motivated to do something then!
-Water bottle with built in filter. Most countries advise you not to drink tap water, however bring one of these and you won't need to worry. also saves money buying expensive bottled water. (Available from Amazon or department stores)
3) Food
Try and choose the healthier options. A high protein diet (fish, chicken, turkey, lean beef) is a great choice on holiday aswell as having small portions of carbohydrates regularly.
Make sure you constantly drink water throughout the day. I’d advise at least 3 litres a day.
4) Look for facilities
Most hotels have some sort of fitness centre.Also look for swimming pools, outdoor courts and various activities planned by the resort, a great way of keeping active throughout the day!
Tip: Request a room near to some of these facilities. Means you're more likely to use them.
Summary
Holidays are about relaxation, but taking a few of these tips on board will ensure you keep healthy and hopefully don't put on weight.
