Twitter account hacked
| Posted: 19th Jul 2011 - 21:52 Quote | |
This is getting really embarrassing. First of all, thanks to everyone who's offered help and notified me and secondly, apologies again for any inconvenience caused. I've changed my password and revoked access on all Twitter apps, but it seems I am still sending out annoying DM messages - anyone got any further ideas how to stop it? I have two accounts: sarahsodirect and 4NMarlborough. |

Sarah - file a report ticket with Twitter since your account is still sending DM's without you writing them. Take a look at the link below and you should find a form to use to get in touch with Twitter. |

Thanks Christa. Annoying little people these hackers. I've now replied to an email from Twitter to confirm it's still going on, so hopefully that will kill it. Thanks again for your advice and links, most appreciated. |

There has been a spate of this recently - I've had several of these scam DMs - fortunately I realised what they were and didn't click the links. Changing your password should sort the problem. Make certain you choose an ultra-strong password - I've found lastpass.com to be very helpful. |

Thanks Naomi! It's just been so embarrassing and annoying - can seriously damage your brand, get you unfollowed and get known for all the wrong reasons, takes up a lot of time sorting it out too! |

Hope it'll get sorted out for you :)
