Hi Again everyone,

I need some help and advice here  - So I am working for a client who wants to know of any software they can purchase themselves which lets them share all sorts of files between 10 staff - Here is the test - It needs to be userfriendly for both PC and Mac.

They want the services to be looked after on site - fed up of paying for services they cant use because the present supplier cant make it user friendly for both PC and Macs.

Any advice or answers would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Warren.

Kind Regards

Hi Warren, we provide online storage to our customers which is completely cross platform (Mac, Windows & Linux) and they could use it in the office, for home working or on the move etc - however, it's a hosted service rather than hardware on site.

If they're set on on-site hardware, why not just get a NAS they can plug into their router and use as a shared drive?

We believe your customers deserve the very best online experience.

Depending on how sensitive the content is, try something like dropbox.

or, set up something on-site using an old machine as a server. Very simple to set up.

Dropbox, Livedrive or Sugarsync would be ideal. Could also try Sharepoint as well.

Further to our telephone conversation, check out our product which seems to fit the bill:

http://www.ice3-portal.co.uk/

Ice3 provides document management (including version control, notifications, etc) together with a raft of other features such as blogs, wikis, forums, shared calendars, task lists, instant messaging, etc.  You can create private Work Spaces where folks can work together - and even provide access to external suppliers and clients.

There is Google Apps integration, Outlook Integration, it works with Macs, Windows, Linux, and modern Smartphones, eg. iPhone, Blackberry, HTC, etc.

It is a grand product, even if I say it myself, and there is a telephone support help number, a comprehensive online help system, and 24/7/365 external monitoring on all systems..... phew....

Any questions, please get in touch.

Nick

Not sure if I have the wrong end of the stick, but everyone seems to be giving you off site answers, The problem with sharing from drop box etc, is time delay, and if you drag some thing out it stays out till its put back,  We are a printers and need to place files in a place where we can all see it,

We just have the main office pc, which is quite a powerful thing as it run all our pre press software, then we all wirelessly connect to it so we can open any file we wish. Half the office use PC and the the intelligent ones use mac, and all works tickety boo between the two.
