Completed lengthy email after 2 hours work, changed email account to send from and it completely disappeared and is not in my Drafts folder. How can I recover it please? Using Outlook 2007 on Windows 7. Thanks.

Yeap, that' an annoying 'feature' of Outlook 2007... Do you still have the original email? If so, the only way you can get it back is by having the email open and selecting the Undo button on the Quick Access toolbar (top left corner).

Not sure if this will work but, computers have a date time that you can revert to, find this and go back to the date you created the email - reset your comoputer and it should be viewable - somebody will read this and explain it a bit better - best of luck

In the mean time, invest in a external hard drive and create back ups at least once a week

Don't think this will work. The system restore will only restore system settings and not files.

But it would also require a restore point that fits in with the time the email was written.

That's basing it on a PC.

I know Mac's have something slightly different. But I again think that the window of time required is to narrow.

Got this from the interweb (http://bit.ly/tbWXVP) but there is no solution though -

"This problem is usually the result of the signature feature in outlook
2003/2007 - it changes the signature when you change sending accounts and
its very easy to type in the signature block, so switching sigs erases the
message text. It has nothing to do with contacts or the address book."

I'd be interested to know this solution as well as I was asked this same question the other day. At present i don't know of any solution.

As the OP asked the question 4 months ago, he probably retyped it by now Open Mouthed Smile

It is however (IMO) against the spirit of the forums to just PM a solution instead of openly sharing it Sad

Hi Steve,

Oops, you are quite right. I didn't notice the date either. At least one of us on the forum is bright eyed and bushy tailed.

Just PM'd you :-)

Apologies for continuing a zombie thread, but any chance of getting the solution as well? Thanks.
