Once again well done to the Diss team: Jonathan White our Area Leader, Jonathan Horswell our Group Leadel, Chris Aldrich our Operations Assist. and of course last but not forgotten Me, John Gibbs our Marketing Asst. It was nice to welcome our Regional Leader -Chris Hornby and visitor Stuart Mclean of Insight Financial Services, a collegue of 4N'er Helen Durrant who was also in attendence together with passporters: Jon Blake-Abate Ltd., Richard Moore-Minidshift Strategies LLP, Michael Banham- The 4hourweek and our local members. Our 4Sight today, the "History of the Internet" was presented by our Operations Asst. Chris Aldrich who took me down memory lane when I was a young Post Office Telegraph enginner in the good old days before BT, I might add, when computor technology was coming into it's own. Incidently the "Collossus" was the worlds first electronic Computor used to crack the german codes during WWII based at Bletchley, very hush hush, I would imagine if I told you about it I would have to kill you! Our next meeting will be at a new venue in Diss which our Group leader Jon will see that the web site is amended with the appropriate location details so that you are fully updated. If I don't get a chance to see any of you between now and Christams day and the New year, please have a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.

Super meeting this morning, probably as well that we are re-launching at the New Venue in Diss town as we were a bit cramped in the bar!! Interesting 4sight by Chris Aldrich some of the stuff most of us might be aware of but some fascinating insights to the early internet days. Oh yes great meeting in Diss and agree Chris it was a tad tight, which is all good news. Yes the 4sight was excellent on the history of the internet, loved the screen shots of the early websites (or were they called that?). Anyway onwards and upwards for Diss with a new venue and a huge meeting on the 19th Jan book here for that one now b4 lock out. |
