guess what, everyone got along very nicely without me putting my oar in every five minutes! useful reminder that is true for all of us I think - the world doesn't stop spinning if we step away for a few days! I had a complete break from the 21st until the 3rd January - heaps of family time loads of fun & lots of sleeping eating & drinking Had non stop back to back appts for last two days so that's helped me get back in to the swing of things pretty quick!

I ended up working all but Christmas Day, and then managed to do half-days between Christmas and New Year - as I had Jury Service booked in from 3 January I wanted to get stuff done and out of the way. Now I've been sent home from Jury Service until Monday! So I'm working on the little bits clients have sent me and making sure I'm having my R&R time this week! |

I find it a little sad that people find it so hard to turn away from work. For me Christmas is about family and my four children. My whole life I have had a strong singing career built around the church, so Christmas is all about that. If you have no faith and no children, then I can understand that Christmas is a waste of time and money !!!!

Christmas day was the only day I did nothing about business. It was either that or I look for a new wife and having been married to the same woman for over 20 years, its too late for that. Having started a consultancy latter half of last year, there never is enough time to do all things that need doing. Businesses, especially new budding businesses need so much time in ensuring all the administrative side of things are done, it is just crazy. And it is these businesses that are least stable financially so most of the administrative work has to be shared amongst the people investing time and money. I have done more work in terms of accounts, finance and marketing than my core expertise which is technology and sales. For the moment it seems I have veered myself into being everything other than what I had trained and worked hard for many years previously. No time for Christmas breaks this year and I have already pencilled in work days around next Christmas in my head. Christmas is over-rated I say!!!!!!!

we operated a skeleton staff between Xmas and New Year so clients could speak to someone if they needed to claim. This meant that apart from the two 1/2 days i was in the office I could relax and ignore my phone and emails - bliss. |
