What's the difference in Petrol v Diesel prices in your prt of the country?

The difference in price between Petrol and Diesel used to be 1 or 2p per litre, recently it has been creeping up to 6 or 7p. Today I passed a BP service station where the difference was 10p per litre. I'd be intersted in seeing if the difference varies across the network.

We have varied but anything between 6 -10 pence It crtainley makes a difference when filling up 4 vehicles at least twice a week |

Is it true that the UK is the only country where Diesel is (a lot) higher than Petrol? All (most?) other countries exactly the other way round. Why?
