Of all the religions, gods and supertitions studied, I quite like Buddism. Budists seem to be the happiest, least agressive and warlike theists on the planet.

You didn't study very hard Charlie - they aren't theists. There is no god in Buddhism. |

I'm Catholic so there is, of course, only one God, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. Although they've retranslated it now and changed the words, confuses me and most of the congregation every time. |

I just believe in a higher power, and that is changeable. Giving control of your life over to the universe/God is hugely powerful and peaceful. It's great to let the universe drive for a while and listen to what it's saying. I suppose I believe in a 'God' I just don't believe in religion. |

Don't believe in any of it, none of them like gays and it's just full of hypocrisy with so many gays in the church anyway. |

I like Gays! The Universe obviously does! x |

I've forgotten more about Buddism then you ever knew Paul!
Buddhists believe that there are beings that inhabit the various celestial realms. These are variously called angels, spirits, gods and devas by various cultures. I suggest you watch MONKEY. The most epic of religious shows to brush up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=385qiwgZ90I&feature=related I used to worship Monkey and Pigsy, making me a theist Buddist. |

You missed off the rest of your cut and paste Charlie - But do Buddhists believe that a God created everything and manipulate human lives? No, we do not. There are several reasons for this. Modern sociologists and psychologists, believed that religious ideas and especially the Creator-God idea have their origin in fear. The Buddha says: "Gripped by fear men go to the sacred mountains, sacred groves, sacred trees and shrines ~ Dhammapada 188" The second reason the Buddhists do not believe in a Creator-God is because there does not seem to be any evidence to support this idea. On that basis I thought it might not have fitted into Brad's original question, which was about which god (singular) do you roll with.
By the way, I knew it was a cut and paste because "Buddhist" was spelled correctly. I have seen Monkey. Interesting. |

Reformed Baptist here from Anglican routes, so same God - different practices, different theology. But we both agree on there being one God, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
