4N Dunmow/Braintree: Ahoy there!

It was an absolute pleasure taking the helm (or should it be bow??) at "4N DB" today so at this point I'd like to firstly thank my exceptional "crew" that being Lisa Smith (Operations Assistant), Sarah Eden (Marketing Assistant) and of course, our Captain Chris Ives (Area Leader)....and secondly, a sincere note of thanks to 4N members & visitors who helped to make it a smooth, pleasant and enjoyable sail through calm waters.... Karen Daniels' 40 second "Artist" inspired pitch was most definitely worthy of an Oscar as was Charlie Brown's insightful, informative and humorous 4Sight; "How successful businesses use storytelling to create awareness and credibility". I wholeheartedly agree with Charlie, there's no doubt that stories can change the way we think, act, and feel. Stories can inspire everything from understanding to action, have the power to break down barriers and turn a bad situation into a good one. Stories can capture our imaginations and make things real in a way that cold, hard facts can't. Make no mistake – stories can be very, very powerful tools.....so needless to say I look forward to hearing "your stories" next time at 4N DB!! A personal thanks to Helen, Kim, Karen and Sam for fabulous 1-2-1's..... I hope you all enjoyed your meeting at 4N today, please do take a moment to add to the thread & all being well, given that I wasn't asked to "walk the plank", plan to be back with you at "4N DB" (Dunmow/Braintree) on 6th March!! |

Congratulations to Shelley for doing such a splendid job as DB's GGL. It was indeed a pleasure and privilege to be working with a new Team-- Lisa, Sarah and Shelley will certainly take this group to new heights if not unchartered waters. It made me smile to visualise Charlie being 'well hard' on top of that double-decker------I wouldn't want to see that side of him. Nonetheless, a powerful 4Sight on the impact of story telling in business. This tactic is now firmly within my tool box. Thanks to Roy ( Web Services & new boy to 4N ) for 20 min 1 to 1.....and this was not enough time, and also to our new lady Kim ( pet lover ) for our chat about each others life journeys. Shelley will be our new Group Leader from March 6th and I'm sure she will be very successful in the role. So until then, happy networking and may see you on the circuit. Cheers, Mr Pink |

Shelley did a cracking job - and I love the flowing locks. Great 4Sight Charlie, stories are definitely a memory hook for people, whether you tell them in a presentation, a sales pitch or a 1-2-1. I had a excellent gossips with Dani and Helen and not long enough with Andy learning about green communications. It was great to see the DB (Aston Martin) team and the merry gang again - as the saying goes 'I'll be back'! |

Shelley will make a great GL. Charlie's 4sight was very interesting. I am definately not going to upset him! It surprising how many people have stories to tell but don't use them. If I think back over my 4N history I can remember the stories people have told me but very rarely can I remember people who have just given facts and figures. Thanks to Charlie, Denise and Lisa for my 1-2-1's

Charlie Browns 4sight was excellent as I think we all like telling stories.
Once again sorry for being late (the road works had gone on the way back!)
Great 1 2 1's with Lesley Morrissey, Sam Bawden and David Scott.
See you all soon. |

A sunny meeting at Braintree and great to see Shelley back, looking forward to working with her and all the team. As usual my only complaint - 2 hours just isn't long enough to chat to all the great people who are around!
As mentioned here's that link to Just Giving for AMMFhttp://www.justgiving.com/Lisa-Smith-AMMF - many thanks to anyone who can offer support and hugs and kisses to those of you who have already done so |

Another buzzing meeting at Braintree - good to see a virtually full house, and such an interesting range of people! And despite (or because!) of the changes at the helm, everything ran smoothly - many thanks to Chris, Shelley, Sarah and Lisa. Charlie's 4-sight definitely proved the point - a good story stays in the mind more than any number of facts and figures ... Many thanks to Alex, Shelley and Lesley for really interesting 1-2-1's. It's always good to find out what makes other people tick, but that ten mins is rarely enough! And huge thanks to Lisa for taking on the mighty London Marathon in support of the charity AMMF!!
