We have our own van mount cherry picker. Reach is 38ft (14.5m) which we rent out (with driver / operator) if this is what your after....it isnt a crane though

I reckon a cherry picker is the ideal platform for this type of work. It is solid and safe for those who aren't used to that type of work. I will be hiring one later this year to put French windows and a Juliet balcony into a third floor flat. I will clean out the gutters too. Great fun. Can you PM me when you have a minute just to give me a guide price of what I can expect to pay.

Thank you for your responses, but the situation is that the tree is in a garden approximately 50 ft above the road with a bank approximatley30ft wide.at that point the tree starts and is approximatley 50_60ft tall.lots of fun. And to add to that it is a small road.

A cherry picker is good for manouverability in a small and confined area. They are very stable and safe. It might be useful to take some photographs of access and email them to any potential suppliers.

You will need a Bronco access vehicle....48m reach...but these are large 48 tonne vehicles! or you will need a boom lift...you will require an IPAF license in order to hire the latter, even then the 30ft reach could be a problem as the maximum reach give on any crane is straight up

Hi Richard

Talk to Nationwide Platforms

http://www.nationwideplatforms.co.uk/AboutUs/NewsPress/2007-10-08/Panther-Cover-the-South-West-with-New-Bristol-Branch/

They hire all manner of powered access with variuous height and reach capabilities, with and without operators and delivery. They also do free surveys of the site to determine what is required. We use them a lot!

Good luck!

Nigel
