One of the things I've always been quite passionate about is maintaining good health to enjoy the finer things in life. We can't always plan around the corner and we can't always plan for what may come, however I believe we can all commit to investing in our health daily.
Having worked in a Sales environment I'm only too familiar with the caffeine culture, the extended nicotine breaks and the pint after work to ease the troubles. People too busy to eat properly so they grab fast food on the go and maybe even skip meals as they push to land that big deal.
Now we all know that business requires effort and work. And we know too well that without the necessary input it is unlikely that cash just lands on the table. So we have to be prepared to roll our sleeves up and get stuck in. But does our health really need to take a back seat through this period?
Richard Branson was once asked how he could achieve so much in a day. And his answer was simple. 'I work out'. When people are saying they don't have time to work out, successful businessman are saying they don't have the time not to. After all the energy and vitality gained from developing the body means they can go the extra mile when they need to and they can push on in a sustainable fashion. Provided of course that relaxation is on the rota at some point of course.
This relates to business owners too. Is there a way we can all help promote greater health in the workforce? After all, its not just a nice fuzzy feeling to be healthy. It can drastically increase the bottom line with increased performance, reduced stress, higher morale and less sick days.
So what do you think? Can we have it all and make a Healthy Profit or should we put our Health on the line to secure our Wealth?
"The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, he said:
"Man. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money.
Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health.
And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present;
the result being that he does not live in the present or the future;
he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived."

Enjoyed the post and agree whole heartedly!
We should all work out our body and minds and figure what is the thing we truely strive for!

I've lost nearly 4 stone since november and done that by eating healthier and exercising 20 mins a day in the morning on exercise bike (even before networking meetings recently)
It can be squeezed in if you try
