Hi guys

I'm playing around with promotional ideas and was wondering if there are any restrictions to releasing branded balloons in large quantities say 1000 plus in city/town centres?

Does anyone know the answer to this?

Though legal you may alienate many potential customers, Google "helium balloons wildlife" there's plenty of info.

The fact your in Great Yarmouth - a coastal town is even more reason not to release them - the balloons are a real problem for sealife. http://www.mcsuk.org/what_we_do/Clean+seas+and+beaches/Litter+campaigns/Don%27t+let+go+-+balloons

Thanks for the link Spike. Conservation and wildlife was a concern we discussed today and decided it might not be such a great idea.

Wonder what the law is on tying balloons to railings and lamp posts across the city? it's not exactly fly-posting!

Hi Jimmy,

To get a definitive answer, contact Eric Patton at Luce Ballons, he is on the 4N forum and a member at Lisburn Northern Ireland. They have provided the ballons for and helped with many many charity balloon releases so he will be able to tell you exactly how to go about it and what the rules are.

Hello again Jimmy

I have just looked at some of the nosense that gets put about balloons and helium.  The one about party balloons using up all the helium is bonkers.  Balloon gas is a waste product that comes about when the100% pure liquid helium is put into smaller containers.  This gas is sometimes just vented off because there are not enough balloon gas cylinders to put it in to.

Bet you didn't think your request would unleash such comments.

All the best

Eric

Adriano of d3signs does fence banners, building wraps and all sorts. Could be a good alternative?
