I heard the fees that some of the speakers were paying to be there were pretty steep, so they had to get that back somehow I suppose |

It seems odd to me that speakers pay to speak. Surely it should be the other way around? The Nigel Botterrill success is always a bit of a myth to me. Seems that he gets rich from selling dubious franchises. |

It is a case of being able to talk the talk in most cases. Most people can't, so they're at an immediate perceived advantage. Gullible people listen (and spend). Perfect business plan for the confident and brash to take advantage of... |

It was hiddeous, I felt like I'd been transported over to America, far to much "whoop whooping, hallaluah'ing & clapping" for my liking. The best seminars over the two days we attended were the ones that were delivered by SME's giving lots of useful tips and information away for FREE. The supposed successful big boys that "earn millions with a passive income stream via affiliate marketing" just spoke bollocks!! I nearly fell of my chair when crowds of people jumped up to sign up for their products and services and parted with their hard earned cash ...not sure if thats stupid or gullable??
Rant over |

They prey on those that have either just started in business and think they can get a quick hit, or someone that has been in business for a little while and is struggling. It's a disgrace. People were actually parting with hundreds and sometimes thousands of pounds on the promise of 2 days with said 'guru', a cocktail and a free book (as a VERY special bonus!). I want to meet all those who signed up yesterday in 6 months time and see EXACTLY what happened. As Karen said - genuine SME's wanting to up their profile and give away some real nuggets of information are the winners of Biz 2012 as far as I'm concerned. And I'm much more likely to go to them for paid services too! My rant over too..... |

Last nights The Apprentice was a good example of what not to do i think, the girls going hard on that poor shop girl. |
