Really tough questions - so many favourites for so many different reasons Jet Set Willy - FIrst game to make me laugh. System Shock 2 - First game to scare the crap out of me. However above all of them stand all the Ultimate Play the Game games on the Spectrum. Me and my brother spent ages mapping them out and even got two of our maps printed in the Crash magazine |

Championship Manager 01/02 - absolutely flawless game. Once played it for 46 hours in one week One guy on my course at uni ended up properly addicted to it and actually got kicked off the course due to the resulting zombification. And a special mention also to Goldeneye on the N64. |

Goldeneye - Nintendo 64 Just walked into Virgin Megastore in Taunton (remember that Brad?) and brought this. My flatmates and I didnt even go out on the weekend, we were just holed up in my room playing the single player - Dam, bunker and silo. That was before we discovered the multiplayer. A mate even brought a N64 controller just so he could guarantee a game. That game rocked |

Super Cars 2 on the Amiga (showing my age) Good call, think a mate of mine had that on the Atari ST, it was awesome. The timing skill to hit someone with front/rear rockets as they slowly accelerated... For me though, has to be the original Mario Kart on the SNES. I dread to think how many hours I spent playing that. |

Strange, I'm not seeing anything less than about 10 years old on this thread. So are we saying that all these modern games with super high def graphics, surround sound and tens of million pounds worth of development costs dont come near to games that were often produced in back bedrooms for peanuts, when it comes to game play? |

It was less about graphics back then, gameplay was king. I think more so today its the graphics that get the hype |
