Quite often whenever a client (outside our area) wants us to go and visit them - I try to arrange the time for around 10.30am/11am so can attend the local 4N meeting beforehand. To me it seems a no brainer as gives added value to the journey. Great opportunity to put some faces to names known mostly on twitter/forum etc... while also meeting totally new people. Yesterday on route to a meeting in Nottingham, arranged to visit Ashby de la Zouch (brilliant name) and was fortunate enough to be asked to 4sight as well which was an added bonus. Really enjoyed the meeting and has given renewed enthusiasm for local events. Is this something others look to do? Well said James.

It's really so damn obvious. So true Lee. It is funny how the obvious sometimes escapes people.

Is this something others look to do? I tried to do this in March when I was away at three different locations and unfortunately none of the dates matched and despite putting a post on the forum nobody responded :( Hopefully when I'm in London next week. I'm then in Liverpool and not one close enough for my travelling distance and when I'm in Brighton the fortnight after it's the wrong week :(
At least I tried What days are you in London? If we are not attending the same 4N breakfast / dinner, let's find time to meet up for a coffee/tea or even a drink at the end of the day.

Thanks for the offer but unfortunately it was last week. There's a possibility I may be available next Wednesday lunchtime as I'll be passing through on my way to Brighton. That said I need to check whether the second half of my journey is on a fixed train as I purchased an advance ticket.

If meeting at a train station helps, let me know. I expect you have to switch or otherwise get across town somehow.
