Hi All, I posted in the forum a few months ago and have since rebranded my business to Nicola Edward Architecture Ltd.

After years of earning other people money I decided to move from Scotland to London and go it alone and be my own boss.

I have finally got round to organising PI insurance and a website and so I would love some feedback on it and how I might win some work in London.

And I'll hopefully get round to attending a networking event soon!

Thanks

Nicola

Hi Nicola and welcome to the forum! If you can get to any meetings, they are well worth it, I'm already seeing a return on my investment at just over a month in!

As far as the site goes, do you have any photo's of finished projects? These would be brilliant as a picture really does say a thousand words. If it were me I'd add a Blog and/or Twitter feed, this will keep people coming back and keep you up in the rankings. If you need any other web advice drop me an email/message etc.

Hi Nicola,

Welcome back to 4N! As mentioned by Peter photo's of completed projects is a step in the right direction, I created web site for an architecture firm and made sure that all previous work material was used including 3D CAD's before & after images and so on.

I see you already have a twitter feed linked to the website, maybe add another section and call it articles and give some advice on topics that you feel you can give good and free advice about, it'll help grow your site whilst keeping it on topic.

Also add some info about what you do in the signature area and create a link to your website rather than just having it there as text. (if you need help drop me a pm I'll reply with some info on how to create links in 4N forums signatures)

Your on the right track, best of luck and if you do need any help or advice don't hesitate to drop me or peter (above) a line.

regards,

Malik

Thanks so much guys for the feedback. The site is very much a work in progress so I'll keep trying and incorporate your comments.

Chris, no direct experience with Passivehaus yet, but something I would love to get involved with at some point. I am currently doing some contract work in the commercial sector where SBEM is becoming more and more common and onerous. Energy use and generation in the future is high on the Political Agenda and I know that becoming a specialist in this area would be very beneficial in the long term.
