Anybody been using Pinterest?

Just wondering is Pinterest a good way to promote your business?

I love Pinterest but use it purely as SOCIAL media rather than trying to promote my business. I think if you are something creative/visual then it can be used. I know lots of wedding businesses and graphic designers use it.

Completley agree with Maritza. If you have a visual business, so maybe selling innovative products rather than everyday items, or a designer or photographer of some sort you can use it to show off your work.

I'm sure there are other clever ways of using it but overall it is more social than business orientated in my view.

I use Pinterest, and as Alison said, it's purely social. In my case, I post my cartoons on it, or books that I enjoyed reading or if it's something that my clients created.

I use it to simply raise my profile. One thing I hear a lot from people I meet is that, they feel they know me because they follow me on Twitter, Pinterest or Facebook.

I spend about 5 mins daily on Pinterest.

Same here, in fact it's probably more like 15mins a week, it need not be a chore.

I have just started using Pinterest, as my business is visual...i have my first board up for Vintage Inspired faces i.e Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn...for a Vintage Inspired wedding fayre i was demostrated and exhibting.  My next board will be spring summer inspired make-up for my clients.

Just another source of networking which is always an advantage

Maritza, Pinterest is an entirely new social network. Despite that it had propelled high enough. And it's really a good platform for promotion. Of course, that depends on how you use it. Remember that unlike other social networks, it also makes use of images.

I'm using, but for videos more than stills. Picking up followers pretty quick, especially as it hooks you up with your FB buddies.

Good question, haven't used it  - am I missing a trick here?

Only been on it a couple of times.  I like it because it is 'visual' - and have put a few images up.  Open to ideas as to how this could be used to promote the business.   But on the face of it I like it because it is what you see
