Hi Ashley, I liked the web site. You will get lots of comments from others regarding the technicalities no doubt. I liked it, it is what I would expect from this type of site and enjoyed the video content though Kitty's has an interesting view of the world - must have been a good night. When the Ice Factory was going in Perth, it was common for a professional photographer to take photographs for resale. These were posted on the web site. Another income stream perhaps? Two points, I would like to make. The first is that, I don't know how big a part of your business is taken up with children's discos. Young adults would think the web site is cool. Would the parents of 8 year olds have the same view? Would it be worthwhile having two sites. One for young adults and grown ups and a separate one for the little ones? The second thought I had was a daft wee thing. It is to do with your profile. Your location is High Valleyfield. I had to think twice, most Fifers would have to think twice. It might be better to change it to Fife or Dunfermline so that folk will know where you are if they are looking for a DJ. Hope that the above makes sense. Gary |

Hi Ashley, sorry but I did not like the site, but then again I am an old fuddy duddy who does not go to discos, so maybe best to ignore my views. A few thoughts: 1. You need to make your fonts and page sizes consistent. Home page hits you in the face and About is smaller etc. 2. I viewed it on a 26 inch monitor at full HD resolution and the pages did not fit. How will it look on a laptop with a reduced screen height or an ipdat, iphone, etc? 3. SEO wise, you need to talk to someone who does this for a living. Your meta data needs tightenning up as you are wasting word and you need to be more careful what you put in your H1 tags on each page. Eg. "About DJ Nash" or "Let the party begin" are not search terms I would expect to use to find a disco. 4. On your contact page you have used two types of map; one for each location. Try and be consistent. 5. Also on the contact page you have your email address in the clear. You will get tons of junk mail. 6. I like the way you have laid out your Media page. Try and put your gallery page in the same format. Again you are helping the site user by making it easier for them to move around the site. 7. I tend to agree with Gary, you may wish to have either two sites or a site that asks a question on its first page. So that you target the whole site to your audience. You have somethign like the time it takes for them to read 18 words before they make a decision to stay or go. Personally I would have two domains and two sites. Sorry I sound negative. Good luck. Gary PS. Don't look at my website as a example fo good practice. Its somethign we put together very quickly 30 months ago and have been working on a new version for six months. When we get chance we will finish the WP version and give everyone a chance to critique it. |

Hi Ashley, You will get a number of posts, some positive and some from professionals pointing out things and areas you need to tweak - but in general that is a good looking website.
It shows easily and clearly what you do and highlights areas you specialise in! Best of luck, Andy |

Hi Ashley, It's not a bad site, but needs some tweaks in my opinion. To be honest, yours is one of the very few types of business where I can see a justification for auto-play music, but on the whole this is a massive no-no. One of the things which comes high up in consumers' lists of website hates is auto-play. Partly this is because many people surf at work and if the boss is walking past and music starts blaring out it's hard to hide what you're doing. Another is it can just be annoying if you're not in the mood. As you cycle through the site the same tune starts up again with every page and even if you like it that can be aggravating. At the very least I would put in a prominient mute button, but my advice would be to ditch it. People want to be entertained at the event, not when they're researching professionals to perform at it. The tone of the copy isn't bad and at points you correctly focus it on the benefits for the client, but even though you wisely keep your paragraphs short, there are still long stretches of relatively unbroken text which isn't easy to read. Use sub-heads, bullets and other organisational devices to make life easier for the reader - which will make the message clearer. Most people skim sites and you don't provide enough for their eyes to latch on to. There are a few errors here and there - most notably 'Edinburch' on your Contact page. Also, whilst I suspect the repeated 'DJ' formula on the homepage sidebar is for SEO purposes, firstly it becomes very monotonous - SEO should never detract from the reading experience. Secondly, it's done so much in this very repetitive way that I wonder whether the search engines would consider it to be keyword stuffing. Hard to say but I wouldn't chance it since that could see your site heavily penalised. Hope that's helpful. |

I like the music, but I think you should have an option there to be able to stop the music The background images are fantastic You might want to use more children friendly images on the children pages The utility warehouse link at the bottom doesnt go anywhere infact when clicked it makes the site look as if it just broke... if I was you i'd get rid of it, you don't want to give people reasons to click away from your website
Other than that its pretty cool - I like it :-) it's different |

The web site address on your signature doesn't work, the "a" is missing. Gary
