Hiya All, Launched a new site www.carhirelondonheathrow.co.uk - it is almost an exact copy of my original site www.carhireuk.co  - the difference being I have removed the slider so the site is static (and changed a few graphics) oh and refocused it on the new keyword.

The other big change is I have tried to speed it up (using WP3 Cache and Cloudfare) - this has made (according to pingdom) a massive difference in speed the site loads (Now 1 to 2 s load time was > 10s).

If you have a minute can you tell me if you have any problems with it when it loads?

Also advice gratefully received on:

a) Any more ways to speed up the site and

b) The best way to make a WP site mobile friendly

c) Anything else that may help in my endevour to dominate the worldwide car hire industry Open Mouthed Smile

Hi Roger -

Had a quick bounce around your site and everything seems to load OK for me... not sure WP3 Cache is working as hard as it should though. I would expect pages that I have aleady visited to load much more quickly the second time for the duration of the session, but going back for a third visit seems to prompt a page reload if I've clicked a few links in the meantime.

Other ways to speed up the site? Usual suspects; improve your hosting, refine your Wordpress theme to minimise the number of database queries etc.

As for mobile friendly - best place to start would be making your layout responsive for smaller screen resolutions. Basically you just use media queries to load up different stylesheets or CSS rules.

Just spotted something strange - on loading the homepage, the booking form on the right seems to 'jump'. It starts off looking a like a screen grab (the form inputs are windows stylee) then seems to change to an active form (form inputs become correct for my Mac).

Hope some of this is helpful, if you need any more help please give me a shout.

Regards,

David.
