So you put up a post on 4N and get no replies... Why do you think that is?

interest people or that it's a thinly disguised ad

Agree with the above, people seem to think they can come on a forum, and all their post are in the wrong section and it is all about selling.

Tony how can you say about 50% 50% 99% when you do not go to 4N meetings, how can the MLKT work just through the forum.

This is not to say everyone needs to go to meeting far from it, some people do very well out off just using the forum, but they are people who use the forum most days.

They give good free advice and support to other users of the forum. People know what people do there is no need to shout about it.

There is an article part in the forum write some and mybe that will help.

I WISH i had the time to go to 4N meetings - BNI meetings BOB meetings netLinked etc and so many many more

I think they are ALL worthwhile - some better then others some better suited to indivuduals characters and needs but all very good in their own ways.

I am building a team that will eventually go to these meetings ones that i / we feel are receptive to what i KNOW we have to offer is going to assist their business ( yes im going into sell mode but justifying my answer )  and were the members have something good to offer us / our members NATIONALLY - looking for quality individuals we can socialise and work with.

in truth I have been to more breakfast meetings over the last few weeks then i have over my entire working life ! and my waiste line is proof of it!!

MLKT does happen through this forum as it does with social media generally.

I have many clients (including a BIG contract) where we have MLKT through social media and they've hired me but we've never met offline. I've also bought and collaborated with many people I only know online

In response to the OP, I think often it's because the poster is new to the forum community and is expecting to 'take' from people from the outset

As with any online communication, you have to give (commenting on others posts) for a while before anyone will care enough to give to you (comment on your posts)

I really dont understand the need to turn posts in to "buy my stuff" type ads. The signatures you are allowed in 4N are massive adverts on their own, so the more you post the more advertising space you get anyway. There is no need to make up a post just to try and squeeze an advert in. If you make use of the signature and just engage, your adverts will be seen everywhere.

I myself am guilty of this one - skipping past long posts. If a post if 4 or 5 paragraphs long I will speed read the first couple of paragraphs and go on to the next post. If you keep posts short, or ensure all the key information is in the first few paragraphs you will stand more chance of getting read.

Posts that look like they are just cut and pasted from somewhere else just get ignored by me. If you think something is worth checking out post why and link back to it. If you are too lazy to explain I'm too lazy to read.

Finally, I'm considered to be successful on the forums because I'm on here a lot and 90% of the business I get from 4N comes via the forum from 4N members I have never physically met. Yet I have never tried to advertise outside of my signature or the blatant ad section. It is all down to engaging and taking part
