Anniversary Ideas

Mark We like The Langtry Manor Hotel in Bournemouth, built by Edward VII so he could 'spend time' with Lily Langtree. You could stay in The Kings Room or one of the other really nice rooms. Edwardian Banquet on the Saturday evening in the original dining room. Family owned and run hotel, nice atmosphere. A cruise to Venice - anyone can fly there but to cruise up 'main street' into Venice is really something else! We did a 17 night cruise which included Venice for our Silver Wedding Anniversary (6 years ago - now you don't feel so old do you!) 30th Anniversay was Washington, 7 Day Cruise, 7 Day Carribean then back via New York - that was great! Another little gem would be a Poem by Jan Jack - which I can vouch for personally, I scored some real Brownie Points when I read a poem to my wife in New York! Congrats on 20 years and good luck! Grahame

The memories of a great weekend (or whatever) will last forever, but how about a keepsake as well? I can personalise jewellery boxes, game boards, or make a picture of a scene that has special meaning for you both. My website has a range of examples. |

Once you have decided where to go, why not give her a small box of handmade chocolates with a favourite photo on. I do printed chocolates, It shows that you really put thought into the gift :-) |

Hi Mark, I run a travel agency, in Twickenham, and would be delighted to offfer you some help & advice. Having just been to Toronto, I can highly recommend this as a destination (immigration, unlike the USA, is so easy), as there is much to do and see. As has already been mentioned, Venice is a great place to visit, but not so sure october is such a good ime. You could try the delights of Vienna, Budapest or even Prague. For a less well-known destination, Zagreb is a possibility, or for a bit of warmth, you could do a lot worse than Dubai. Depending upon your budget, there are a plethora of destinations available to you, without having to pay the earth. Try to avoid the end of October, if at all possible, as school half-term holidays make the prices go up and up. If I can be of any assistance to you, please feel free to contact me and I'll be delighted to work with you to see what we can do. Bear in mind that a UK holiday can be far more costly than that of one overseas. That said however, the choice is yours. Hope to hear from you soon. |

No one has mentioned Paris, dead easy to get to these days with Eurostar and book early for the best deals. If you would like to give me some dates I would happily come up with prices for a weekend in Paris, Venice and New York. The girls in the office no all 3 well and we spend a lot of time booking anniversary celebrations to these along with Rome and Barcelona. If your interested let me know, we are fully bonded ABTA travel agent, trading for over 40 years, I am sure we could come up with some decent options for you. Jeff Kilby
