£30 a year is a good price.

I currently pay £7.50 a month which covers domain name renewal, hosting and email.

I recently saw one company charging £50+vat PCM for hosting and search engine submissions (what ever that is).

You have to keep in mind the type of support you want from the company that offers the hosting as well.

Yeah, abit more details about the site is he's after just uploading a simple design portfolio to hand out to employees, so hits wise there will rarely be more than 10 a day. It's a simple 4 page basic HTML site.

I would offer to host them on mine but I am just about to develop my LMS on there and need the space more than the number of accounts at this stage and don't want to be upgrading at this stage or be responsible for other peoples content.

Ok everyone has their own opinion on hosting. And to some degree hosting is hosting.

However I did a heck of a lot of research in to hosting companies a few years back after a bad experience with downtime.

After reading on a LOT of forums I kept seeing mention of TSOHost as being super reliable and exceptionally good.

I cannot recommend them enough for 2 reasons:

1 - They are very cheap: £15/year for basic hosting

2 - (This is the most important reason) Their support is second to none, should something go wrong with hosting they will sort it and respond to support requests within minutes at all times of the day and night. However the number of times they have gone above and beyond, when I have personally broke something, is unbelievable.

As I said hosting is hosting, until something goes wrong and thats when you realise the difference between hosting companies. The only other company I have come across with the same level of support is Rackspace and trust me they aint cheap!
