Looking for a new challenge :-)

Good morning guys, My name is Tanya and I am a professional insurance broker with almost a decades experience.

I on monday of this week handed in my resignation with J M Glendinning which they accepted and I left that same day.

I am today looking for anyone who can give me a number of anyone who may be in a position to meet with me to discuss any opportunities they may have or indeed if those people have any other names in the industry for me to talk to.

In terms of Recruitment guys, I rate Steve Mallaband highly down here. He's at Cavendish Maine. I have also had some dealings with the guys at Nixon Allen though. They're in Leeds so might be the better bet for you.

If you want to remain in the insurance industry then I suggest that rather than using an employment agency you should just get your CV in hand and contact local insurance firms who you would like to work with.

As an owner of an insurance brokerage I find it very frustrating that people who want to work for me, and might even know me, go via an agency rather than direct to me, as it will cost me a fortune in agency fees. (Some agencies cost 30% of first year salary so that can be a lot of money)

Tanya, well done on making this decision.

We may have an opportunity but I will be up-front and say it is not an 'employed' position. We are growing a group of self-employed General Insurance Brokers & Business (Life) Protection advisers via network. It is early days and not a quick win but we are really nice people to work alongside and determined to make it happen. There a few up-front costs as well.
