I'm making a website and a feature I want to include is a blog style news feed ont he first page which allows users to comment the updates and can be easily updated. (ideally via email or a really simple to use program)

The example is below, and can be seen as the main content on the landing page.

I'd love to know what code / tech / just abit more about it so I can try and learn how to implement it on a website I'm working on in Adobe Muse.

Thanks

Matt

Doh! I've just realised the above website uses wordpress, is there any way of importing a wordpress blog onto my existing website design?

Is this from an existing blog (e.g. BBC news Blog)? If so then get the RSS feed and use something like this to import the feeds into the website.

If you wanted to run your own blog, WordPress is quite simple (if you know a bit og HTML & PHP) to convert a design into a WP theme, it will take a while to get used to the WordPress way but it's incredibly simple.

There are lots of people on here (cough) who can do this for you if you think it's not something you could do yourself)

Yeah its a blog for the site. I just want it so on the first page I can update it with news about the company and site. I was hoping there would be a simple way of implementing it onto an already made html site, rather than work the other way around.

I'm afraid theirs no money in the pot for this as its chartiy work for a non- profit organisation. ( Hense why I'm dipping into the scary world of coding!) haha

Let us know if you have any alternatives!

Only real option then is my link in #1, create a blog on blogger or something similar and then use the RSS link they give you to do this, it's free and would then be simple enough to change the css to match your site.

I am using the code example to run the blog on my homepage (when I launch it).

Assuming you're hosting on PHP host, then just install wordpress yourself on the back of the site in a folder called blog or something.

So it'll be yourdomain.com/blog.

Then you can feed stuff through onto your static html page from there if you want using Feedburner or the many other RSS readers out there.

Or just do what Gareth said and create a freebie blog on blogspot and use RSS feed to feed through to your static site.

Thanks Matt!

Could you show me an example of what the rss feed would look like?

Thanks again!
