So much so that I'm still reeling!

What a great meeting once again - lively, informative and a wonderful reminder of just how 4 Networking really works.

We started off again with the 40s, led by acting Group Leader of Nicola Grace of E W Grace Glass who, might I add, did a fantastic job! We were delighted to welcome visitor Maria Tillet-Hayes of St. Clare Hospice. Not only does 4N Harlow support the Hospice when members get into trouble with Fun Fines (you know who you are) but Maria told us about some great opportunities for members to gain exposure for their businesses, whilst supporting a very worthy cause.

It was also a pleasure to see Passporters Lesley Morrissey of Inside News Ltd. and Simon Berry of Credit & Business Finance. Lesley reminded us that it's the community aspect that works so well in 4N - we often have great contacts for each other, and because we move around and connect at meetings and online, those opportunities don't get lost. Simon educated us on the very real problem of customers who can't/won't pay, and how he can help protect businesses before they find themselves in these situations.

We also heard about some great offers on car rentals from Craig Nash at Sixt - almost too good to be true! And whilst on the subject of great offers, Nick Challen of Utlitrack reminded us how he can help reduce our utility bills in our businesses. Stephen Hayward of Ecoklean painted a very vivid picture of a bathroom flooding incident, but thankfully he was able to salvage the situation, and provide an excellent service. (I'm also thankful that most of us had finished eating by then...)

But before we moved on to the 4 Sight, we had the opportunity to welcome back Angie Phillips of Angie and Co, who has recently stepped down as Area Leader, but will still remain very active within the 4N world! During her time, Angie has contributed so much to the various 4N groups she has been part of and managed, and the multitude of hats she has worn. And somehow, she's still found time to work with clients! I personally owe a lot to Angie for introducing me to 4N Harlow, and supporting me through my role of Marketing Assistant, as I've no doubt she has supported those finding their feet in similar roles.

So, on to the 4 Sight by Neil Andrew of Flexible Training. Neil provides essential First Aid and safety training to businesses, and told us about a very important development  - public de-fib machines, which shock the heart into restarting itself into a normal rhythm. Owing to the impending Olympic Games, key locations around London have been installed with portable de-fibs, which can save a casualty's life whilst the ambulance is on its way. He also explained the concept of the 'magic minute' - the crucial 60 seconds after a person becomes unconscious, and how what you do in that time can change their survival rate from 6% to 79%. It was an excellent, interactive demonstration, and I think all of us feel a little bit more confident if we ever find ourselves in a First Aid situation.

Don't forget to book in for the next meeting on Wednesday 18th July - as always, places fill up fast! Our 4 Sighter will be Ian Slocombe of Slocolec, who will be telling us what we can do before we need to call an electrician. Sound advice indeed!

Firstly, a huge hug and thank you to Nicola for Guest Group Leading our Harlow meeting -- brilliant job, albeit not to time.
We all really appreciate the effort and time put into 4N by Angie and are delighted to know that she will continue to visit the Church Gate Hotel.
Superb 4Sight from Neil Andrew on how to use a de-fibrillator machine. His delivery was enhanced by reference to pierced nipples, position of the breasts, headless bodies, and how to deal with collapsed Arsenal fans. Nonetheless, we all learnt how t

How cool is 4N when you walk into a meeting and the very person you needed to talk to turns up?

Loved the 4Sight Neil!!!

Thank you to Chris Ives for his kind words and thanks, thank you Sarada for the above mentions! Such a different atmosphere to the meeting on friday, how warm, relaxed and friendly! Great business being done as well!

Neil Andrew's 4Sight on how to use the de-fibrillator was a necessity in many ways and highlights how poor the UK is for such implimentation of those simple measures that changes life and death! I was 'shocked' to find out that the defib doesnt start the heart but stops it!!

Book Neil for a 4Sight or there may be serious consequencies!!

See you in a fortnight!
