Best website to register a Domain Name on??

123 reg is great for domains and hasnt let me down although godaddy seems to be the more popular choice from people I tend to hear from. I wouldnt mind hearing of some better ones myself because its always good to see if there are better services out there. 

Another vote for 123-Reg.

I have found on the odd occasions that I have need them, their support team are fast and pleasant to deal with.

I much prefer the old DNS management tool to their new one, but thankfully they haven't retired that (yet).

I have 5 domains with 1and1.co.uk. They have good prices but most importantly: they have an excellent phone support. I called there three times already for different issues and every time somebody very competend helped me. Once I had a wordpress question - which is NOT what they're selling - but they guy took five minutes of his time and explained to me what I neede to do to solve my problem. Thumbs up!

OK first things first... having had to get to know this industry inside out and back to front (as I deal with it everyday) 1&1, 123reg, Fasthosts, Godaddy, Namecheap and Heart Internet are all not that great (althoug they do get better as you go through that list. Namesco are expensive.

They all have their flaws typically it is speed but because they are so big it doesn't matter if joe bloggs the 4Ner doesn't buy a domain with them; 50,000 other people will that day! Like with any other purchase my company makes I look for 4N members... There are plenty of 4N members out there for anything your business needs. Like always though domain names everyone seems to jump in a recommend the big firms.

I'm not the first in the thread to say it but... Domain Names is one thing I can provide. Like every other provider out there it does depend on the extension you're after but on some we are the cheapest I've seen. (eg. .com £7.49/yr). My post stated *.uk with the "*" as a wildcard for all domains ending in .uk. The domains under the.uk TLD cannot be registered.

The most common being .co.uk, & .org.uk which can be ordered instantly via our website at £5.95+vat - there are others such as .ltd.uk, .net.uk and .plc.uk whch we can also register but process manually as there are special requirements.

We use heartinternet for .co.uk and godaddy for .com because they offer the best dns management that we have seen so far. 

123 reg hasn't let me down yet. Godaddy is also good but I don't use them for hosting.

Aha, but is it the best?

I've used bluehost.com for my domains and web hosting for years and they have always been excellent.

I use 123-reg for all domain purchasing, the control panel is very simple and straight forward. Their hosting isn't the best though so going elsewhere for that is better.
