The furthest I've been in a 320 mile roundtrip; however, I had business in the area anyway & tied in a 4N meeting.  I think if your business isn't restricted to a certain area, then it can be useful to wander further afield.  These days I'm more restricted with time networking as I have groups to cover as an Area Leader.  Saying that, Yeovil is now one of the groups I cover & it's almost an hour to drive there from my home.

From Honiton I used to travel to most of the SW groups. Even travelling within Devon, Honiton to Barnstaple was a 100 mile round-trip! 4Sighted at Bath (125 round) and Swindon (230 round), but the furthest I ever did would have been the Chessington launch (300 miles round trip).

Of course, if I booked into any meeting now, it would have to be a 14,000 mile round trip!

Steve, I have to question your commitment!

Really this is all down to time not-distance..  and the interesting thing there is that it might take you longer to get TO a meeting them get from it ..  Speaking personally anything that involves the great Northwest car park known as the M60  is likely to be a problem,  so WHERE would also be important. ( but  an hour or less seems to be the consensus.. personally I'm on the less side)

Interesting that all the Londoners are apparently # workingfromhome  during the Olympics–I wonder if they'll ever go back to work? I'll bet some of them don't want to...  online document sharing anyone?

Looking forward to visiting Darwin tomorrow for the first time to see how someone else does things - can't wait... Trying a new area rocks... and my newly found freedom will enable me to travel further afield!

If you see someone without a smile on their face... Give them one of yours! Smiley

Okay - so Darwin was some 35 miles away this morning and 'hairy' driving in places, where I would have been more advise to be travelling by pack horse or mule! But got there early (Old habits...!), Had a great meeting and met some lovely peeps. Small/Intimate group (size wise) but excellent meeting all the same - even picked up some work!
