What's your favourite Olympic Event?

Or, what's your favourite Olympic moment in the past???

I love the swimming (mainly because there are lots of well fit men with very little clothing on!), but it does mean that I have to put up with that Sharron Davies (she's such a flirt!).

Favourite Olympic moment from the past - Denise Lewis winning the Hepthalon in Sydney, she's such a inspiration to us girls and sorry, yet again - watching the men's sprints - some of those shorts leave little to the imagination!!

I like the part where everyone stops talking about the bloody Olympics...

Stealing a line from Absolutely Fabulous - "It's been like tinnitus".

I can absolutely see how someone like the wonderful John Harris can be so enthusiastiac about his involvement as a past gold medal winner and being a torch carrier - but little old me will be avoiding it as much as possible.  Like the bloody jubilee!

I recommend leaving the country for the next few weeks Michelle!

I love the Olympics - have done since I was very little and I'm so excited about them coming to Britain. Can't pick out a favourite event however. There are very few things I won't watch (boxing and wrestling maybe), but my "must see" events are the eventing, cycling, athletics and gymnastics. Have tickets for cycling and athletics next week and I CAN'T WAIT Open Mouthed Smile

I love the trampolining (do they still do that?). Don't get to watch much of the Olympics though unfortunately.

Are those of you who like it looking forward to the Opening Ceremony?

I'm not that bothered about the opening and closing ceremonies - it's the sport which interests me. But I'll probably watch tomorrow.

I am confused how there was football on BEFORE the opening event?  What is that all about?

Ps. I am not leaving the country, I will probably just read more books and play on twitter to avoid TV to not a bad thing.  Oh, and get married and turnu 40 actually in London on the 1st August!

I really admire the all rounders - so will definitely be tuning in to the Decathlon and Heptathlon - I got converted to being an Olympics fan growing up watching Daley Thompson - gotta admire the dedication of all those taking part though.  Wishing team GB the best of luck!

Spent yesterday evening watching the womens cycling road race. It was very exciting! I'm not really into watching sport but I thoroughly enjoyed that. Thanks god for BBCiPlayer so I can watch anything I want when it suits me! Might watch the Dressage tonight.

I am not one to overly sing the praises however:

Some of the things the gymnast got upto were pretty mind blowing, amazing and great examples of "Citius, Altius, Fortius" (faster, higher, stronger).

Plus to see what it meant to them when they failed or succeeded showed the emotional / inpout involved and the fine lnes involved.
