Good topic - was only looking at KN Office back catalogues last week and even up until 1994 - there were hardly any EOS (Electronic Products) showing and typewriters still featured heavily...now EOS products count for the majority of our business.

Every business needs to evolve and adapt - agreed - our growth has been maintained by 'bolting on' services such as Sharp (Photocopiers), Apple, Brother - to name a few - other Stationers, in our area at least, have not and have suffered badly or indeed ceased to exist.

To quote Terry Pratchett "We live in interesting times..."

I think that's why the economic climate is having difficulty getting back on its feet on a global standpoint.

Everything has changed. Everything that we once knew as right, appears wrong.

Bank Manager can no longer be trusted like they once was regarded as such.

All change.

I think we are about to see an example explode in to our living rooms. Internet TV will become the norm for most people over the next 2-3 years.

In the future the content makes like HBO, NBC will be able to sell you episodes directly to you producing a massive new revenue stream for them and new markets. It will also allow them to cut out the local TV stations who they currently rely on to buy and broadcast their content. TV companies will become truely global in their reach and I dont think there is anything in the UK (or Europe) to stop it other than the BBC.

The way people are buying is changing to.

Out with the contracts

People buying 30 day sims for their phone can cancel with 30 days notice.

In my trade some are going back to PC's after having laptops.

And lets not forget 4N you can now pay monthly.
