Hi Tom, I notice that your website is designed/hosted by VistaPrint. Most packages like these give you at least a couple of email accounts to use. I would speak to them first or look at your control panel / access portal. You should have had a welcome/ info email when you set the site up with all the info. Good Luck. Paul

If you have a website and URL then info@website.co.uk plus tom@website.co.uk should be simples - as above you just need access to your hosting and set up the free ones - usually at least 3 or 4 plus a catchall . |

You need to contact Vista print and ask them to either give you a pop3 account or setup email forwarding to your hotmail account/ gmail etc. Your domain details are below (it may help when you contact them. If you get stuck come back and we can advise further. to have email forwarding set up it should be virtually no cost (if not free)
Domain name: cleancoormskirk.co.uk |

All of the above are correct. The only downer I would mention is the domain registrant. It isn't you, it belongs to Vistaprint. Currently yoi are handcuffed to them and you can't go elsewhere for hosting and e-mail services. This isn't a problem whilst you are happy with them. Let me know if you want further advice. Gary |

I have moved customers from VP before and from memory they charge about £10 to release the domain. LIke hotmail email adresses a VP hosted website does not in my humble opinion give the right impression of your company. Especially as it is so easy to set up a website elsewhere and multiple email addresses. Gary |

Hi Tom I have my website hosted by Vistaprint. It was quick and relatively expensive and one of the attractions was that it gave me my own named .co.uk email. The standard web package gives you up to 3 email accounts which you can set up from the "website dashboard" by clicking on "Set up your email" which is then relatively straightforward. Once you have completed that you can either check emails by logging into the Dashboard and clicking on "Check your email" to log in to the account to vie them in your browser. Alternatively, you can set the account to auto forward all incoming emails to an alternative address. This is done within Settings; Mail with the option to retain copies on the server or discard them. There is also an option to set up a POP account - but I'm not sure how. As an Outlook user, I have set up my Vistaprint Webmail account using IMAP/SMTP so that I can access it and manage content in the server direct from my main Laptop Outlook, without the need to specifically log into the Webmail. To do this, go to Outlook Mail click on the "File" tab then on Account Settings and "Add" then complete the boxes. Incoming and Outgoing mail server should be the same. (in your case probably: mail.cleancoormskirk.co.uk). Add your Webmail Login and Password details and then Test Account Settings. The only drawback seems to be inability to send responses from my iPad/iPhone because the servers do not allow relaying (but that just may be a problem with the account setup on those devices. Give it a try and I hope it goes well. Regards John |

I haven't had any dealings with Vistaprint so I have no comments about them as a company. I have been involved with "liberating" domain names from organisations who have registered the domain in their name rather than the customer's. Inevitably it is messy. If VP would accept £10 or so for changing the registrant's name to the customer, whilst still remaining with VP then that would give the customer the freedom to stay or go. To give an example of how messy it can get, a local, well known company, has had their retail awning redone with a domain name, all their stationery has the domain name, even their vehicles have the domain name. Wouldn't it be nice if they had registered the domain name - another firm has picked it up - free advertising for them I suppose. Gary

Hi Tom Your website looks nice and is a pretty good attempt if it was not made by someone who does this for a living. I would recommend not using Vista Print. Your current site is not optimised for search engines, using image buttons and so on and it put a vista print favicon in the title bar. if you are trying to make your company look professional there are a couple of things you can do, or i can do for you if you like. i offer a managed hosting service, I would redevelop your site onto a Word Press CMS so you can change pictures and text .I would make sure you had the best chance of being at the top of google. You would have as many emails as you like with the @cleancoormskirk.co.uk prefix. Some of my work can be found here www.dreamsoftware.co.uk Message me if you want to chat. Thanks Daniel |
