Not at 4N, but I was once asked for my customer database. When I refused, they walked away from the 1-2-1 and complained to the group leader.

My worst 121 wan't just restricted to one appointment it was the whole round - 3 consecutive 8 min ear bending about how great they were and what they did followed by an apologetic "Sorry, you haven't had a chance to tell me what you do..."
I stopped going to that group for several months as a result of that experience. |

FSB recruiter I had a 1-2-1 with started with 'are you a member of FSB' to which I replied 'yes' He then got up and said 'well it's pointless talking to you then'. I convinced him to sit down and asked him about himself, he told me 'I'm actually a software tester' to which I replied 'we use testers all the time' He then perked up and paid attention and asked me if we had anything he could work on. I said ' I don't think so do you?' First impressions win.... |

Mercifully, most 4Ners are interesting, interested people, even when there is no obvious synergy with the businesses. The worst is a really nice guy (honest!) but he simply can't maintain eye contact and the impression is he's scanning the room behind you for more interesting opportunities ;-( |
