Most people try to avoid thinking about what will happen when they die. But, hard as it may be, making a will is one of the most important things you can do to protect your family and home for the long-term.
Aside from anything else, a will makes it much easier for your loved ones to sort everything out when you die – without it the process can be time consuming, costly and stressful at an already difficult time.
Plus, if you don’t write a will, everything you own will be shared out in a standard way defined by the law – which might not be exactly what you had in mind.
There is no particular age that you need to start thinking about putting together a will. It's not something that you should put off until you have children, earn a certain amount of money, own a home, retire or move into a care home, for instance.
But with every life stage that occurs for most people it will become more important.
Unfortunately, nobody can know what will happen in the future, so the golden rule is as soon as you own something of value, or care for somebody else, you should write up a will. Age should not be a deciding factor.
Wills from Heaven' Sent Funeral Plans start from £62 for one person and £92 for two similar wills.
