A weekend of hell, more than a few minutes put it that way. Only when you experience the NHS in full flow do you appreciate the immense pressure they work under day in and day out and makes you glad for what you've got. Thankfully my little man is nearly out the woods and back home having spent all weekend in hospital under the threat of CT scans and operations. Hopefully we've avoided that now as he's currently bombing around the place with a bucket on his head!! Apologies for any emails I've not responded too over the weekend and back to networking and the carnage that is Stevenage tomorrow. Have a good day. p.s Special thanks go to the Nurses and Doctors of the Lister Hospital, Stevenage. Truly awesome. :) |

First networking event post-hospital-drama-small child-OMG-ness. Top Tip - get more sleep before networking, 4 or 5 hours in the last 5 days isn't more sleep and boy did it show. On the plus side I didn't have to move around all that much for my 1-1's and the 14 cups of coffee helped a bunch! Top Tip #2 - Thanks to Alex for this one, so next week I'm coming with a script, some cards and I might actually get round to telling you exactly what I can do for you, what I'm really good at, what I bring to your business and all that other business related stuff which might help people understand that I'm not just 'another' web company and can make a difference.....instead of my tried and trusted, 'I'm a nice bloke come chat to me' routine!!! I figured 5 weeks into my networking career I really ought to start defining my USP's and business benefits as well as my 'what an awesome fella I must do business with him' skills!!! Now to pluck up the energy to attend The Business Club this evening and see if Katrina can eake 600 quid out of me for another networking group....though on the plus side this one comes with beer.... Tomorrow I'm at Enfield to wave the flag for Paul Jennings new group and say hi to the fine folk in Enfield and finally get to meet 'The Brad' |

Well today I finally met up with 'Teh Brad' and we roflcoptered and lolerskatered around the room before settling down to wtfpwn each other with our l337 roXx0Rz skillz and stuff. Small world after all it appears Brad is a sociable gamer geek like me too!! If by now you're scratching your head wonder WTF...or double-u tee eff...I'm going on about then you're in a safe warm place and ought to stay there, if however you know exactly what I'm talking about then shouldn't you put down your 4600 dpi mouse and step away from the WASD and do some real work!!! Happy easter all and pleasure meeting you Brad! I think after todays 40seconds of hell I'll stick to winging it, reading off cards is really not me!! :) |

This weekend I sacked an entire city in a fantasy realm, although it was past 2am when I finished and boy did my wife make me pay for it!! Then I figured I ought to begin re-writing the copy on our website as it's really not selling us and, apart from the amazingly uber dog wearing goggles, the rest is sooooo dulll!!! So I'm gonna fix that bad boy in the next few weeks. OOOOH AND.....I got my first bit of business from a 4Networking....woot woot!! |

So I went and did my first Group Leader thing today. Mixed opinion, firstly I'm not great with scripts my head is a million miles an hour in front of my mouth so I tend to let my mouth try and catch up which isn't pretty. Hence my catchphrase of 'ermmm....bwhhahaa....urgghhhh' which ironically seemed to be quite entertaining...hell if it works for Eddie Izzard... :D Overall, welwyn garden city, was not as bad as I thought it was going to be, I ran through the script, people seemed entertained and interested and so not as nightmarish as my prior nights terrors made out...overactive imagination ftl....as opposed to ftw for all you nerdy acronym watchers!! Thanks very much to Paula for her support and guidance throughout much appreciated and really thanks to all the people there for not giving me too much of a hard time on my virgin outing!

4N works...no it really does. Not only has 4N given me the opportunity to be confident in selling myself, (people buy people!! © Brad Burton, Enfield '09), but given me the confidence in my own abilities (yeah I know I had it already but nothing like feedback to give you that little bit extra!) to make it a success. And I'm only 2 months in. To coin a 'Feedback Forum' phrase...OMG AWESOME SAUCE! Anyway had Ware today, and that was a testament to the 4N way of life. I knew everyone in the room, and still we managed to hold some very interesting and useful discussions in our 1 to 1's....well at least I did. So it just goes to prove that despite the fact you might know everyone in the room there's always opportunity to gain more insight into each others businesses, and who knows somewhere further down the line they might run across one of their customers who has been crying out for someone to find them a 1.1m Crane to fund...you never know...well Robin does... Anyway enough of the evangelising I'm gonna have to get me a pizza box if I don't quit now. Tonight I defeat N'Kari and her evil minions for 'teh purpehlz'...... /quit |

Yes another good meeting. There is always more to people than you may think initially, so the more you meet with them the more you like them , know them, trust them. It works and I always feel that I am amongst friends. |
