I run regular workshops teaching the skill of Mind Mapping.

Booking details are here: bestmindmapping.eventbrite.com/

I have a number of testimonials for my workshops on my 4Networking Profile Page. Please feel free to speak directly to anyone who has given me a testimonial.

Is Mind Mapping a Technique that you can benefit from? From my research I know that 80% of people in Business have not heard of Mind Mapping so have never tried it. All of these people are missing out on a superb productivity tool particularly those that write or speak in their work.Of those that know about Mind Mapping and have tried it, nearly half say "it does not work for me" but in my experience they will have spent less than 10 minutes in a book or less than 10 minutes being taught by someone who was not proficient themselves.

Finally of those who actually say they use Mind Mapping MOST are not really doing Mind Mapping (rather they are doing concept, bubble or spider diagrams) and thus they lose much of the productivity bonus that comes with using this tool properly

Here I have listed a few of the many benefits you get learn to Mind Map effectively:

  • reduce the start to finish time of preparing an information draft (whether a plan, a book, a speech)
  • reduce the time to learn and remember for an interview, a speech or for a test
  • have a technique to deliver an audience-engaging talk or presentation.
  • discover you can build comprehensive understanding starting from simple start-points and building a web of relevant connections.
  • use the technique to simplify, clarify and communicate the issues (often starting from a set of confusing, conflicting or highly complex ideas)
  • use the technique to make better judgments and decisions
  • use the technique to spark creativity
  • use the technique for effective note making and summarising information

And here is a summary of how Mind Mapping scores over outlining (lists and bullet points) as a technique for facilitating learning and understanding:

Task

Bullet Points

See the whole picture and the detail simultaneously

Now see how clearly the Mind Map below summarises all the information from the above table and the above bullet points (that represents more than 24 bits of information) transforming the data into a more 'brain-friendly' and easy-to-absorb form (you read the Mind Map by reading each of the main branches from the centre outwards).

However if you find yourself struggling to understand the Mind Map below, don't worry, because I guarantee you will learn both to create and read Mind Maps on my upcoming workshop. For now just be aware how much simpler the Mind Map looks and feels compared to the table and bullet points above.

Having done both Barry's Mind Mapping and Speaking Confidently workshops I can highly recommend both. I used to spend hours writing presentations and articles, and the thought of presenting in front of other people would give me the chills.

Since having completed the two workshops I have done dozens of 4sight slots, 8 live radio shows, run whole events and presented in front of 50+ people. I have even managed to write a last minute presentation request in less than 15 minutes!

For those that would like to save themselves time, and aid their memory, there is a chance to win a place on Barry's Mind Mapping workshop as well as raise funds for the Cash4Pash appeal - Details Here

If you struggle with 40 seconds, are terrified of presenting, or wish to improve your public speaking, then contact Barry today.

I did Barry's Mind Mapping workshop over a year ago - and I'm still reaping the benefits. In fact I send the appropriately named Mr Mapp little blessings constantly (if you were wondering what those odd sensations were Barry ...)

If, like me, you're a very visual person - needing to see things to understand them properly and absorb them fully, not to mention to help you remember them, then you'l find the format of the day is very helpful. Lots of examples to see, lots of opportunities to practice for yourself. And Barry's relaxed style makes it all very enjoyable.

If like me you're not a very organised thinker, you'll also find the content is perfect. I do lots of presenting and speaking - communication workshops, key note speeches, trainings and sizzles for my network marketing team - so to discover a way to take notes, order thoughts and plan presentations which is so simple and so intuitive - is a real gift. It's taken an enormous amount of sweat and stress out of the planning and preparation for me - and I think it's also improved the quality of the results.

And if you find it helpful to be able to see the detail and the 'big picture' at the same time, I can't recommend this enough. In a simple 'map', you get to hold the magnifying glass and the binoculars at the same time.

I tell you, Mind Mapping rocks. And so does Barry's way of teaching it.

Sharon

I have done Barry's public speaking and mind mapping courses and now feel equipped to tackle any presentation. The increased confidence in speaking in public, together with the mind-mapping techniques Barry has trained me in, have been a real asset to my business.

Mr. Mapp's Mind Mapping really does work ! I've just come off a phonecall of 25 minutes duration, discussing a case with a prospective client ... and have a mindmap with just 60 words (and 4 pictures) on it. My subsequent attendance note runs to 2 pages and 516 words ... without pictures (Law Society doesn't allow my pictures in disclosure ... yet )

I know which document I'll use if Mrs. X subsequently attends for initial interview !

I've also been on Barry's Mind Mapping workshop and highly recommend it. Mind Mapping is something I'd been curious about for a long time, and had just not put aside the money or time to learn it. When I met Barry and had the opportunity to attend one of his workshops I jumped at it.

Barry explains Mind Mapping and makes it all very easy. Since attending the workshop I toyed around with it for a while as, like most things, it takes a little practice to master. Receiving lovely extras such as the Mind Mapped postcard from Barry that he sent whilst on holiday shortly after the workshop helped - that's what I call follow up!

The things that I use it for most at the moment are note taking, and primarily for presentations and training. Most recently I've been creating a Mind Map for each of the lessons that I've been giving to a group of 6th year students at a local school. This was quite a challenge for me, never having worked with students before, and the Mind Mapping process helped me to organise my thoughts about what I would present each time, then having the Mind Map to glance at in the lessons meant that I could very easily and quickly check that I was on track with the important points. So much better and easier than sitting and staring at a blank piece of paper waiting for inspiration!

The other great benefit when using Mind Mapping is the fact that it is so much easier to remember than notes or bullet points. Hey, it just works on so many levels, so just do it!

Hi Suraj

Thanks for that. I would be particularly interested to know the areas where you find Mind Mapping useful in your business (and perhaps others would be interested as well.

As you are already into Mind Mapping you might be interested to flick through this podcast where I was interviewed last year about some of the key benefits of Mind Mapping unhub.com/AHuO

Mind Mapping is 4 ..

Mind Mapping is 4 .. Networkers

Mind Mapping is 4 .. Authors . A great way to get thoughts onto paper , organise , see new connections , overcome writers block

Mind Mapping is 4 .. Speakers - a great way to plan, prepare, rehearse AND deliver an effective "conversational" speech + saves time!

Mind Mapping is 4 .. Negotiators - a great way to keep the overview of your negotiating position in front of you at all times

Mind Mapping is 4 Educators - Buzan -style MM's help brain absorb /recall complex info, + gain meaning/better thinking. Great4Study

Mind Mapping is 4 "Telesales" - reading W4W script is wooden, reading from Buzan style MM is person's natural conversation style

Mind Mapping is 4 the Innerpreneur as MM facilitates "joined-up" thinking - less likely to make short-sighted blinkered decisions

Mind Mapping is 4 ...
