Massive opportunity for paid up members..

New site going live on Monday, behind the scenes.. public facing Tuesday, we hitting it hard PR, Twitter, Marketing wise.

We're binning off all previous content on it, not forums blogs etc..

So if you are a paid up member, use this weekend to prepare a decent blog, insight not sales pitch, and also hunt out an appropriate image for that blog and when we go live Tue you can upload it and get on the end of the benefits of the big push.

Articles can be anything business or social.. but make it interesting.. engaging.. fun... contraversial..

Brad, do you mean all the previous articles are being binned and the forum is staying as is?

Understood that you don't have time to go through and sort them all but some people put a lot of effort into those articles.
Some people just copy/ paste their adverts - fair enough dump those - but you're just dumping them all and now asking for more?

And, no, I don't have an answer - at this point.

yes but surely they kept copies of their articles on their own PCs , so tart them up/ update them if neccesary and republish them on the new 4N.

Big reason never to put all your eggs in one basket.

great stuff Brad, need to get my article writing hat on...will put it on top of recruiting hat, juggling 5 jobs at the moment (including 2 4N members!) I'll re-work my recruit for free article and get it on there!!

My point was people did work, it's gonna get dumped and now asking for more.

Yes Lee I agree with you too and hope that they are saved somewhere by the people who wrote them.

Not aiming this at you Lee as you know it, but for newer people reading this and wondering, 4N has to be somewhat ruthless as a lot of the old site wasnt performing as we (members) really want it to and Brad is totally correct in putting the effort in creating what we want than saving small bits of what a handful of people appreciated.

Totally - new site is rather spiffing and deserves new content, new focus and new direction which is exactly what the team have created.

I have just one (well ranked): Just found it and copied the content to notepad and saved it on my desktop for adding to the new site. It took me all of 10 seconds to do...

No point in trying to preserve format as the new site will restrict that to keep them uniform.

Will the links to previous articles still be live though? I have used the site to promote articles for certain key phrases some of which are currently ranked Page 1 of Google. I would be dissapointed to learn that anyone clicking on an article with established rankings would encounter a broken link?

Actually. Being serious for a few moments.
When the site is down, for the few seconds in the changeover, will anyone be standing by to counsel those not quite able to handle the status quo?
Also, after the change, will there be an 'understanding commitee' available to hold our hands and guide us in gently?
