Hello I'm Adam Cowper-Smith Consultant. I joined 2 weeks ago at the Dover launch and have now been to 4 breakfasts, all of which have been inspiring and great fun. On Thursday John Botting recommended in his 4sight presentation that we all try the forum among other things. I am new to this sort of thing so any tips are welcome. Since joining I have been kept busy with the social side of 4N, so the business side is in deficit at the moment but I am confident that the balance will be redressed soon. Now about the criminal record, that was my opening question for my 40 seconds in Dover on Thursday. I followed it up with “No? Well that's what you could get as well as a fine or imprisonment, not forgetting that you still have to pay the fine if you go to prison. I went on to explain the duty of care that we all have when employing people either directly or as contractors to make sure that they do so safely without damage to people or property and toughed on risk assessments and method statements. I believe that Health & Safety and the people involved in it need to turn it on its head and show how safety can benefit an organisation and help improve efficiency while increasing profitability. If that's what you want for your business, I will be very happy to help you achieve it |
