Spend the extra and get a better quality web cam. Nothing too flash, but one that gives a decent colour reproduction and also has a noise reducing mircophone. And never blog on an empty stomach. Don't get grouchy, if your having a rant watch it back in the cold light of day before you submit it. Oh and don't make them too long, bite sized chunks of your thoughts and your world. But think it through, don't make yourself look like David Cameron. You could do a lot of damage to your reputation if you get it wrong.
Just my 2 Peneth worth. |

Hi We advocate using ComF5 technology; it enables you to run live webinars and viewers can annotate comments. It is also available in High Definition. The cost has come down considerably to $40 a month. We are resellers for it. It is extremely popular in the USA and has grown 400% over the last year. I've already been in touch with a couple of other 4Nrs who are equally passionate about it, e.g. Julian at Aquila and Company who you might like to chat to as Julian is very technical and understands the product well, he is also a reseller. With all best wishes Sarah |

Hi Brad, Presenting wise, search around on YouTube for a guy called Ray WIlliam Johnson who has a a couple of YouTube channels. The one you want is called BreakingNYC. He is one of the top watched video bloggers out there and he normally sticks out a video a day. His videos are is all off the cuff and he just edits out the long pauses etc. He even films some of his video blogs whilst walking around the centre of New York holding the camera at arms length or while he is doing his laundry etc. But none of that maters because he presents so well. I dont think he does much prep work as he is a full time student working a couple of jobs to put himself through college etc. I have been watching him for a while and it has given me loads of ideas on how I want to do mine |

Thanks Brad - First stab at a real signature The results you get whilst walking will depend on a few things (1) How steady you can hold your arm out at length for the time you are chatting (2) Sound (wind noise) maybe a problem outdoors (an external mic with a phone cover will get around this) (3) The quality of the camera may have an affect on the final results if you are going from light to dark places There was another guy who used to do his video blog in the car whilst travelling up and down the motorways (This maybe more your style if you spend so much time on the road - it would be a great use of some dead time). He used to hold his camera in place on the dashboard with one of those mini-bean bags designed to hold your phone in place. The car will have a couple of technical advantages as well - The light will be fairly consistent and there will be no wind noise unless you open the window. (However, if your camera has the facility for an external mic, a lapel mic will get rid of the traffic noise) |

Get yourself a Flip HD camara, get a Tube Mogul account sorted, then create shit hot content for you fans.
From my experience, talk to the camara as if you are having a one to one with someone, tell people where you are (50:50 Social/Business) and keep it real, dont start spouting corporate mumbo jumbo shit.....not that you ever would |

Hi Brad, Just sent you a personal message about this before seeing this forum post... I don't agree at all with the first few posts, but Jon Daniels above me here has hit it square on the head. The Tube Mogul idea is great, if your prepared to visit ALL the video hosting companies initially and set up your accounts with them. (which could take a while!) Once done though, you upload your video just once to their site, and they automatically deliver it across to ALL the others. Im not quite sure you need that exposure though, you already have a huge catchment here that people can share and send out your vids. I would stick to just having a great Youtube channel, and embed them somewhere on here or/and your own blog. There's a great article on "Mashable" on how to make your Youtube background look really slick (something i need to get sorted out!) Just ask if you need anymore info/help. |

Hi Brad, The guy from BreakingNYC talks a bit about making video blogs in his latest vlog http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y28XSE0KkXk&playnext_from=TL&videos=nOBERGhRnkg&playnext=1 (about 1 min 40 in) Some examples of walking around New York while filming in there as well. Most of the vlog is filmed while he does the dishes but he has over 1million subscribers and millions more views - So he must be doing something right |
