Fuzzy, what simon said, change your outgoing mail server to the above Vodafones is diffrent, not sure what it is off the top of my head, but if you ring customer services and ask for the outgoing mail server they will give you this infomation |

I had similar problems when I set mine up. I use my own email provider's outgoing server and it requires authentication for outgoing mail (ie you need to give it your email address and password in that bit as well as the incoming bit) - for some reason I had to enter the information twice before it would work. This has been the same on several iPhones I have set up, no idea why, but that's what works! |

I have just had this problem too. I am with Vodafone on a BTHome Hub (at home). After hours of trying out different settings I found on a forum that if you register with Vodafone 360 this fixes it. You then enter smtp.360.com as your outgoing server address and make sure the Server Port is 465. SSL should be on as well. This worked a treat for me! |

If you are with Vodafone I can also recommend getting the Sure Signal device if you live in an area with poor reception. It will boost your signal to full strength and 3G. |

I've never had any problems with email and iPhone. Do you use Outlook or Apple Mail as an email client. If so you can sync the settings direct to your iPhone, if it still doesn't work, there could be a problem. If its a hotmail account, you may need an additional app rather than the mail app. If you let me know who your email provider is, I can send you some settings, you may have tried already, but worth a shot. |
