Wedding insurance - recommendations?
| Posted: 10th May 2010 - 20:31 Quote | |
As the wedding date grows closer and we pay out more, I'm starting to wonder about insurance. It seems there are some good value companies out there, but we all know that with insurance it comes down to how good they are if you actually need to claim - I discovered some dreadful reviews for the first one I was considering, so they're definately out! Does anyone have any recommendations, and/or does anyone in 4N provide this? |

www.Ecclesiastical.co.uk are about the best Sarah as they cover monetary gifts too. I have heard bad reports about EandL so avoid them even though they are cheap. Wedding insurance is good to have for just in case sake because you never know - I know of one bride who was glad she had insurance after the horse pulling her carriage bolted on her way to her wedding in Evesham last year, she ended up in hospital...poor love. |

Thanks Denise - Ecclesiastical seem to be coming up trumps - I found a review online that they were the only company to pay up when the wedding gifts company Wrapit went bust, and that speaks volumes. They're not the cheapest, and sometimes you do get what you pay for, so with your recommendation on top, I'll pay the extra and have done with it! E&L were the ones that were slated, and I had a big falling out with their website on Saturday, anyway - can't be doing with companies who make it difficult for me to buy from them - what's that all about?!
I'm sure I will, Steve, and it'll be guaranteed if I stump out on insurance, bit like it never rains when you remember your waterproofs... actually that last isn't true, but this is England! |

Hi Sarah, I had no idea - does this guy know how lucky he is to be with you? (if not tell him I said so!) I used to know a lot about such things, but I am way out of touch. However, try Claire Pigeon of AMB, one of the few independent brokers left: <col style="width: 433pt;" width="577" /> claire@ambinsurance.co.uknot sure if she can help, but feel free to emntion my name, and whatever Claire says you can trust her. Good luck on the 'Big Day' - and make sure to send me a couple of pics ,if I was 20 years younger........................!!!! |

Sarah - I know that with Ecclesiastical you can tailor-make your own policy. They are also the insurers I seee recommended everywhere. I am not getting any kick backs for recommending them either. |

yes, it becomes more difficult as our wedding date comes closer. and our money will spent as water flows in the river. so, the most wisest thing is that always hold wedding insurance. Many companies give wedding insurance for abroad marriage. Just go for them and compare wedding insurance according to your need. i think blue insurance is the best option........ |

It's worth making sure that all your wedding service providers are fully insured too. Such things as 3rd Party liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance. Ask to see their policy documents. Most importantly - have a fab day!!!! Cheers, Derek. |

Thanks for the sudden spate of replies, and as Denise pointed out, I am now well and truly wed'n'fled - currently enjoying Lake Como, the home of the Moto Guzzi bikes we're riding, and taking a moment to check email and update the blog. Hope all is well in sunny UK! |
