Guten Morgen, My name is Brigitte Peach and I run a language agency. I am wasting a lot of my time with the day to day administration and have decided to employ an apprentice from September onwards. Is there anybody out there who has experience in this field? I will meet an official from the local college next week and would like to be as well prepared as possible.
Many thanks Brigitte

One of our latest assignments was the translation of Ancestor research documents from Polish and Russian into English. Our translators first had to transcribe the old scripts and then translated them. Both translators and client enjoyed the work and outcome.
We work with private customers, SMEs and large companies providing any required language related service such as translating, interpreting, language tuition, proof-reading, voice-over etc. Skype tuition is becoming more popular, because our clients can learn a language when it suits them, wherever they are. Ich habe nur wenig Erfahrung mit Azubis in GB. Alternativ kommt evtl. auch eine Virtuelle Assistentin in Frage. Es gibt reichlich Auswahl hier im 4N Netzwerk. Viel Erfolg. |

Brigette, I think this is excellent, it's how I started out actually! First ever job was a modern apprentice, I was 16 years old, I worked 9 - 3:30pm and did my coursework from then until 5pm. I earned something like £80 a week, and I gained an NVQ in Business Administration from it. The experience alone was fantastic and I learnt so much! |

Hi- I agree with Miss Fox, this is a great way of offer someone an opportunitu - In case you decide you want an alternative - you may also want to look at something like this: www.step.org.uk, who offer graduate placements for around £220 per week (tax and NI free) - this would be good if you also want someone to implement new systems of processes for you.

Hi Brigitte! I've also just taken on an apprentice - it is a fab scheme. Got loads of support from the training provider to help recruit. Business Link were also involved, but more from a co-ordination point of view. Go for it! |

Thanks for your support. Crispin I am still ashamed for not recognising you on Tuesday in Lincoln and Danke Michael, es ist schön auf Deutsch angesprochen zu werden. In Germany we are used to training apprentice and I started off many moons ago as an architectural draughtsperson apprentice which led me to becoming a quantity surveyor in a bi-lingual environment, resulting in further education when I became a technical translator. Other qualifications followed later, but when I was 16 I did not believe in education. I am going to meet the Grantham College advisor on Monday and will ask for more help if needed (hope you do not mind). Have a nice weekend.
