If i'm going to be doing "networking"... what should be on my business card when I go networking. Was thinking of putting my photo on it (yep this icon / avatar) to make it personal. Was also thinking of ditching the landlines / fax in replacement of my own mobile. Is there anything else that would really personalise my card?
Was thinking of a contact url: with all the social media URLs on. Anyone have an opinion? |

May be this is a bit obvious but don't print anything on the back and make sure its easy to write on the back. That way you can jot notes down for some one. My first cards where black on both sides and Glossy. I had to scratch extra info into them. Now I stick with a simple white and red design with all my contact details on there, including twitter. |

Hi Mark, that's a really good point. I might just have a "back side" that you can write on. lol. |

Yes, I like the photo - I use that and people remember me and recognise me from that. Not convinced about the avatar. If you walked into the room, would I recognise you? Unless you're bright blue and always wear a rugby shirt of course, now that would be a differentiation ! Yes definitely put your social media url's on the card, and put the number where you want people to find you. If your mobile is switched off when you're in meetings 80% of the time, how will people get you? Via an answering service? In which case major on that. Fax ....... oh yes, I think I vaguely remember what those used to be. And a clear space to write on, a must. |

Well I was going to say add your twitter name to the business card as that's what I plan to do next time - you already have though ;-) |

I like these Doug. Re-use, call me twice made me smile. Incidentally, my business cards have only a mobile number on them and my website address. Which itself is not much more than a picture of my business card and links to my various SM profiles... It seems to work OK for me. |

i'm hearing you Neil. I've been thinking about the front since last week (when I decided to make the next step and think about joining). But until David mentioned about the "back side" I wasn't really sure what to do. We do a lot of digital stuff and it all started off with "going green" and "thinking green" - so it's a great thing to put in there. Will be using a recycled pulp board.
-A good ice breaker then. They're going to press tomorrow, so please do shout out if there's anything that should be on there. EEEkkk - I hate things going to press.
