Video & Photography people...

Hello....

I'm working on putting myself (yes me initally) out locally with design and want to try and find a few video people and photography people who are willing to travel to S.Yorkshire. Good images are (kind of, well, actually extremely) important. The people I'm likely to be working with will probably have the worst images ever, which is hopefully where you guys step in.

I'm trying to get my ducks in a row and make sure, when someone asks, that I'm not ending up as the guy with the camera or particularly searching for someone - I've done photos plenty of times myself, but i'm not fishing for this work per se. There's some real talent on here, so I figured I'd hookup with people on 4N who are really in to this.

Doncaster is only 1.45 min by train from KingsCross by train, approx 2hrs from North London. We're an hour from Leeds by car and only 30 minutes from Sheffield. Anyone in the East Riding of Yorkshire will know where Donny is.

There is a photographer at my local 4N, but as I'm a forum dude, I figured the first thing I would do is post something here. No criticism to the guy at the meeting, but I've never met him because he sends his dad as a replacement. At this stage I don't really need anything from you, just a nodd that you're interested as and when and perhaps a rate card for me to understand rates.

Longer term, I'd hope you're my backup guys, but if it works really well, I doubt I'd change. I might never need you, but I can't speak to a customer without the security of being able to source images. It may be "anything", product, person, landscape, setting, but probably not action shots.

For the video stuff, it is short videos for companies. (I really hope Phil Begnet (video man) sees this).

thanks. I know I had a crack at your Spinaker Tower - ha ha, sorry.!

I buy quite a lot of stock from online places at the moment. Just tell me, how is it you can furnish me with "excellent photos". Is this like library shots you already have? Mood photos etc?

If that's what you mean, it does actually interest me quite a lot.

Lol ... I have to admit the photo of the Tower is a little tenous in relation to art ... but it looks good as a thumbnail :-)

Its funny you should mention stock. I have quite a stock of wedding type photos ... ones of champagne glasses etc ... as well as a hefty stock of other images. Is there anything in particular you are after?

what makes me laugh is I've sailed out of Gosport and seen that tower many times on the approach back to England. To get that photo, you'd have to be on a boat - I'd say. I like it.

I'm slightly bricking it now. ** hides ** // haven't too much time to worry about design, but I do need clear representative images that communicate everything properly.

I am based in Chester, but cover all of the North West and Yorkshire and Derbyshire. I do professional portraiture, food, and commercial photography ( including salon, fashion and modelling shots) and videography. As well as bespoke services I also provide stock photos and videos for businesses wanting to include quality and limited use shots in their web sites or printed material. I also have co ordinated a number of businesses to share costs in video and photos, say wine and food services to combine studio or on site time to reduce costs. I'm a gazillion miles away in sunny Somerset, but saw this thread and thought I'd wish you muchos luck with your new project - sounds like you're champing at the bit to get going!

I've recently worked on two projects, one for 4Ner Karen Hensman of Innovate IP, where I've provided very specific images to order because stock just doesn't cut it. this kind of work can be done very easily wherever you are - unless, of course, you're looking for images of the local area. Mind you, you may well spot quite a few Yorkshire images on my website, as I've had a longstanding love affair with the locality and have in the past made a few location trips up to satisfy my visual greed :)

For photographers a little more local to you, Paul Berry is a top guy!
