Hello from new member in Bristol

Hello everyone, yes I am new to this group and new to networking to be honest!!I do have a vast amount of years experience in sales but can shamefully say I have never joined a business networking group... so here I am. I realise that this is a great way to explore new opportunities and make new contacts, and am quite excited by the prospect of the whole networking thing!! A bit about me, well I have just started up as a self employed financial advisor... please don't yawn!...but it truly is an exciting role and one I feel very strong about. I have always worked so hard for every employer that I have ever worked for, but being made redundant twice I have decided to become self employed, however I am extremely lucky to be able to be tied to Genesis Advisory Services who advise on behalf of Pruprotect. The reason I feel strongly about this role?........ well insurance is a bit of a mind field as you know.... who to insure with, who's the cheapest etc.....all these thoughts I had about my own personal insurances,however it was not until I learned about many of the insurance products in the market place and the protection that I now advise on that I realised there are huge differences in insurers plans when protecting your life, family and businesses. What one company will pay out on another may not etc etc...its was a scary discovery to me personally with a young family and I soon discovered my own financial protection, illnes cover etc was not acceptable and left us pretty financially vulnerable. So I really do feel strongly in what I do, I want to offer genuine advice and help if and when needed. My background has also been in nursing so I guess you can consider me quite a caring person not a sales person who just sales sales sales!! With all that in mind, I build my client base up on predominantly referalls and long term relationships... I mean does anyone actually like cold calling? Anyway, as I ramble on, I would love to hear from anyone on this forum as to how networking has helped them and any ideas on lead generation and sharing would be great! |

I've been a member for over a year and I don't even bother with any other form of networking as I've found the golden ticket in my opinion! 4N is where most of my business relationships form and blossom and yes- turn into business! There's so much help and advice from so many different people here who are happy to help. I've been with 4N three months now and its great fun, met some lovely people and just started doing business with a few too lol. I does take a few months but do get yourself around your local groups and spread the word. A great way to do this is by doing the 10 min 4SIGHT so when you're ready see who has spaces- great way for people to hear about you. I'm based at Gloucester South and we have spaces in December if you fancy a trip to juction 13 M5. Hope to meet soon Lorraine |

Hi Julie and Welcome!! I can only echo the comments above in that 4N is great and having ventured to Thornbury a couple of weeks ago for the first time it is a Great meeting as are all 4N Meetings! Im from 'SUNNY' Wales but have started coming over for some Bristol area meeting so will hopefully catch you soon. Let me know if you fancy coming to Chepstow for a meeting Good luck
