This is not meant to be a business type thread.

My personal highlight was visiting a couple of friends who've emigrated to Oz back in the Spring.

My low light occurred recently when I learnt at the Vet's that my dog, Charlie, has a malignant tumour in his mouth. I've been a little low since. Worse things happen at sea, but he has been an integral part of my family for four years.

What's been your personal highlight / low light?

Worst - Daughter having a difficult pregnancy followed by the baby having a tough couple of months with illness as a result

Best - Grandson now fully up to health and currently showing off the power of his lungs as I type this

I feel very fortunate to say that worst thing this year has been nothing worse than 9 year old son breaking his arm - t'was a nasty break with full arm cast but it's mended great so all's well that ends well as they say

Best thing - amazing three week holiday going back to Las Vegas where we got married 11 years ago then touring grand canyon & having a week on the beach in San Diego - blessed to spend that time with wonderful hubby son & my parents all of whom I adore x

I'm so sorry about Charlie Phil, I totally understand how you feel. My lowest point was 4 weeks ago after acknowledging how poorly my cat, Hattie, was and I had to make the hardest decision. After 11 years with her there's a huge gap in my life.

Loys of ongoing highlights but the biggest positive change has to be leaving work and becoming self employed.

Worst - losing my grandad almost a year after losing my great grandad from the other side of the family

Jane, thanks for your post. Sorry to hear about Hattie.

Good luck on the work front for the year ahead.

Best - snow staying off the weekend in Febuary to let people reach our north of scotland wedding venue - Carbisdale Castle youth host. <\p>

Worst? - no personal ones to match the high but my wife's grandmother fell and cracked a vertebrae. Could barely stand for several weeks, during which time her 30 year old telly broke. She now has a posh flatscreen telly and is fully mobile again and back working at Oxfam.

No major lows.

Highs - work trip to New Zealand is always a high for me; & getting a kitten a couple of months ago to replace the 2 cats I had to give away a few years ago.
