What a meeting today, it was nice to have got back in the driving seat and oversee what is without doubt the best networking in the region.

The meeting went really well and everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves and most importantly business was getting done.

Dr Mattew Potts delivered another fantastic 4Sight where he explored the concept of Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus. The room was silent throughout as we listened intently to what he had to say.

This is a very very rare occasion at Gordano and gives you an indication of the quality of his insight. If you are looking for a speaker you need to book Matthew.

Alexander Mcarthur was welcomed on board as the new marketing assistant.

Amy Trevaskus did a stirling job and Mr Kim Hambley was on top form.

All in all a top meeting.

If you were there then let us know your thoughts, if you weren't then you missed out.

Book in for the next one here.

It was and we are all colliding - good to see old and some new lovely, smiley new faces - you know who you are!

AND I've already spoken to Justin Dodd and Amy Trevaskus this afternoon about how we might be able to work with each other.

Plus the fruit salad and lovely staff at the Premier Inn Portishead rock!

Looking forward to Matt's post as can't wait to try the touch points with my other half. That's all I'll say about that, erhem...

Happy weekend 4N legends!

For those of you that are interested in exploring the language of love & authentic expression 4sight. Here is a summary of the info from today’s 4sight.

‘being present’

Be aware of the feelings you get when you are in a less than resourceful state;

Maybe its in a disagreement with a partner or someone at work, maybe its even that tight chested feeling when you read something that irks you?

Then in the moment before you reply to the other party… you have a small gap where you can observe yourself & make a choice.

You can either respond reflexively; & the words & energy they carry will come from your pre-determined social patterns that you have re-enforced over your lifetime… & this may not be the best option for you and the person you are talking to!.. the EGO WINS AGAINNNNNNNNN   WHHOOARRRRGGGHHHHHH

We can push on with the same old patterns & then complain that they are not working… or you can go inside yourself & ask… where is this coming from & if I didn’t have this feeling, how would I REALLY reply; open-heartedly, authentically & honestly…

It’s also worth noting where the other person is coming from (taking into account what you know about their background)

If you start falling into the parent & child or parent & teenager role you are setting yourself up for a game of bat & ball…. EGO STRIKE TWO!

Recognise the STOP SIGNS when this is happening;

SCORING POINTS.. you said, he said.

THINKING THE WORST… ahhh you bought me flowers; ‘what have you done wrong’

OPTING OUT… walking away, slamming doors etc

PUT DOWNS.., which can also be non-verbal such as a raised eye-brow or a sideways eye rolling glance to another person!

.. now look at your language of LOVE

look thru the following list & choose TWO ways in which you comfortably receive love, appreciation & admiration….

TOUCH… hugs, hand on shoulder or sex (hopefully not all three if its your BOSS we are talking about)

TIME… giving someone your time, such as sitting & just listening to the person, without distractions

THOUGHTFUL GESTURES… such as one of my staff who gets up to make her husband a cup of tea at 4am if he has to leave the house early

GIFTS… eg flowers

WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT… well done on that project Linda etc

Then write down the TWO that you think your partner works with…

& go home & discuss them… make sure you know each others language of love.

It only works if you are giving love in the way that your partner/staff/boss/child/friend is set to receive it… & of course visa versa!

Afterall, a man who appreciates spontaneous gifts, may be upset when his partner does not melt in his arms when he brings flowers home… in-fact just getting home early & listening to how her day has been may be MUCH more congruent with supporting her needs!!!

enjoy

Thanks for posting this Matt! I will be showing this to my husband later...certainly one of the best 4 sights for ages!  Was a great meeting today, nice to see lots of visitors from other areas and some regulars of course. Some great opportunities for business and friendship there today too.

See you all soon! Have a fab weekend....

Gordano was inspirational today

Many thanks to Lisa van den Berg for stepping up and delivering a great 4Sight that had us all sitting on the edges of our seats as she told us a fantastic story and illustrated to us the importance of storytelling in business.

It was due to be Callie Willows today but unfortunately she wasn't well enough to do it, I hope you are feeling better soon.

We had a representative from a Multi National PLC in the room today as Mr Nick Chinn from Alterian came along to see what all the fuss was about, I will be working on him signing up as her certainly got it today.

The housewives favourite Mr Mark Brimson was back on top form <<< Never disappoints.......

Kimbob Jambley had a joke or two for us today, one day he will stop ;)

Roger Green was fast with the fines today and the Children’sHospice Southwest had another good day courtesy of the rowdy Gordano bunch.

Fran actually delivered a quiet and reserved 40 seconds which is always fairly worrying.

And my team did a fantastic job of making the meeting run smoothly, Thanks Amy and Alexandra.

All in all a top meeting and business got done :)

Next meeting we have managed to secure 4N Legend  That Fiona Bray who is 4Sighting for us and it's not about property <<<<<< Seriously exclusive and not to be missed and a lock out expected........

Book into the next one here
